The last "Griz"

It's official the last of the Griswold gang has graduated. For the first time since...1986 there will not be a "Griz" wandering the halls of Whitehall next year. My brothers graduation was so bitter sweet yesterday. I was so happy for him and proud of him yet at the same time sad as it seemed to make the fact that he will be leaving for boot camp soon seem all the more real. Of course I had my camera out the whole time, trying to capture every moment, every hug, every moment with his friends. During the part of the ceremony when they were handing out the diploma's I fought my way through the bleachers to the front to get the "perfect picture" of him when they handed him his diploma. I squeezed and shimmied my way through to the very front and was in the most perfect spot. He was walking up, they called out his name, I was just about to take the picture and you will never believe who walked right in front of me litterly blocking my entire view, none other than Mr. Markel!! I quick moved to the side and got him walking away with his diploma in hand. For those of you who went to Whitehall can understand my thinking "only Mr Markel!!" So that was that, the end of an era for us, but just watch out Whitehall because here comes our kids!! =)

(Notice the man in the corner! LOL)

When I got his graduation invitation I had to look twice because I still think of him as little Eric. He has grown into this fine young man right before our very eyes. What in the world is Whitehall High going to do without any more Griswolds roaming the halls??? He has a good head on his shoulders. I wish him all the best, and I will be thinking of you and your family in August when you all send him on his way. Hugs and love to you.

Your brother graduating does not even seem possible. Amazing. He still has the cute little Eric "look"! Love your photos...the kids look ADORABLE(those dresses are stunning)and yes, all Whitehall grads understand your encounter with ol' Mr. Markel!!!

Looking at the pictures of Eric and family, listening to the music, and especially thinking of our little boys going into manhood just put me into tears...glasses had to come off and everything!!
We were at Chris's graduation last night and I still am in disbelief that I have no more kids in school..I am feeling not older, but so proud of Chris and Eric...it's not an easy world out there anymore to sometimes make it to graduation.
I can't wait to the last weekend of June to celebrate this special moment even more.
See ya soon,
Aunt Colleen
